Thanks to this bill the 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit is going away. It will expire on the 31st of December 2025. This will take solar out of reach for millions of Americans.

It will reshape the U.S. solar market. Here's how we’re preparing — and how solar companies should be thinking:

Phase 1: July–December 2025 The Final Push for Incentive-Driven Buyers The next few months are critical. These are the customers who:

  • Want solar with no upfront costs

  • Expect the tax credit to make the economics work

  • Are primarily motivated by savings

  • This is the last real window to reach them.

  • Urgency must be front and center. If your marketing doesn’t communicate “now or never,” you’ll lose them.

Phase 2: 2026 and Beyond Pivoting to Long-Term Value Buyers Once the ITC disappears, the market won’t vanish — but it will shift. We’ll be targeting customers who:

  • Are less price-sensitive and more values-driven PPA campaigns, strong branding, and clear post-ITC value propositions will be essential.
